Here is the envelope that housed the bride and groom's card. They said they would be framing this.

I used the Mike Kecseg, Contemporary Pointed Pen technique
for this piece, presented to the bride and groom on their wedding day!

Here they are... actually READING the whole thing. I hoped that it would be meaningful to them as well as myself when I lettered it.

By their beaming smiles, I think it did make an impression.

Although this design was not chosen, I like the simplicity of it.
The actual invitation will be posted when I finally get a real photograph
of the original from the bride.... Her colors were silver and ice blue and
she rendered the design/illustration so I sent her the lettering pages
and the original calligraphy... she put it all together. I still haven't seen the final!
I can't wait... but I am sure NOW, it will be after the wedding.

I did not realize that when I created the black and white one.

This was further along in the process... trying to
determine if the SPARKLE silver embossing
method would be an option! THANKFULLY,
it wasn't as it was painstakingly slow and arduous!
I did the writing rather quickly, because I knew that
it probably wasn't going to fly....

The vellum sheet over the top with the clients' design
attached to the sample bottom with ice blue ribbon! MMMMM!

A fan of my hubby's band saw some of my work at one of
his gigs and took my card... months later, she called and commissioned
me to do a card for her best friend's 75th birthday!

This was a commission from a postal worker who adores my work
It was adapted from a Dear Abby column he clipped and had in his wallet for months!

I created this book for my mother as a "commemorative" of all the thoughts and childhood memories that came to mind in 2002 for Mother's Day. She said this was one of the best, if not THE best, present she has ever received. It was so meaningful to us... I am sure it will be more confusing to you.. and I am sorry some of the photos aren't all that clear. It was created with paste paper, Japanese stab binding, gouache and colored pencils.

Quote book for Caroline (Reggie 2006)

I created this book out of love for my dear cousin, Caroline. It was a project created in my Reggie Ezell class in 2006. We were studying different hands and using different tools. I decided when Caroline saw some paper she liked while she was visiting that I had I would make her a little booklet. It not only holds meaningful quotes, but also some memories of our past that is sort of encrypted for only us to "understand". I used embossing tools as well as gouache and a C-Tech .25 pen, as well as Sennilier oil pastels and colored pencils. The paper used was from a stash I had received from a friend. It was from a paper mill in Canada called St. Armand. It was very luscious, hand made paper and I loved lettering on it. The gold I used was Schminke Pan Watercolor with Schminke Tro-Col powdered gouache added to it. Here is the site for the paper:

This is the other "Our Family" piece that the client commissioned me to do after the previous post. I used "BONE" as the lettering style and the color scheme was chosen by him to correspond with his camper which was Turquoise and Black. He proudly has it hanging over his bed for everyone to see as they enter his "home away from home". I did two different scenarios for him and personally, I liked the turquoise on black, but he liked the white one better and the customer is always right!

Here is a piece I created for a client via an email. I really didn't have a whole lot of information to go by and he let me make the decisions for the color scheme and style of lettering. It was created for a couple whose daughter had been undergoing treatments for cancer and he felt that they were in his "family" CIRCLE. When it was presented, there were lots of tears and he was very happy with the end result.... so much so, that he commissioned me to do one for his "home away from home as well. Another one, totally different, hangs in his camper in which he attends lots of music festivals.
I will post that one separately.

The lettering was actually white, like the matte. This photo shows the right colors.

The little flowers were embellished with gold and gold dots were placed around the vine.
